The information provided by the candidate when filling out the NIFT 2026 application form will be verified by NIFT officials before any candidate is considered for admission.
The verification of original documents will be conducted at the campus when the candidate reports for the alloted regular programme. When reporting for verification, along with the original documents, the candidate must also bring with them self-attested photocopies.

The candidate has to select their admission category at the time of filling out the NIFT 2026 application form. The candidate must make sure that they have the requisite valid and verificable certificate supporting their category.
Note that the category selected by a candidate at the time of submitting the application form will be considered as final.

Yes, the National Institute of Fashion Technology will allow candidates with late fees. The late fee application window will open once the deadline to fill out the NIFT 2025 application form with regular fee closes. The start and last date to fill out the NIFT 2025 application form with late fee will be notified by the institute before the regular application form closes or sometime thereabout. The late fee for NIFT 2025 will be INR 5,000. The late fee has to be paid in addition to the application fee, which is INR 3000 for open category candidates.

As per the current system, there is no scope to pay the NIFT 2025 application fee using demand draft.
The candidate has to pay the NIFT application fee 2025 online using online payment gateway, including credit card, debit card, or net banking.
Note that unless the application fee has been paid successfully, the NIFT 2025 application form filling process will not be considered complete. The NIFT 2025 application fee for general category is INR 3,000. Meanwhile, SC, ST, and PwD candidates only need to pay INR 1,500. The candidate will be given the option to edit the NIFT 2026 application form in the second week of January 2026.
Using the NIFT application edit option, the candidate will be able to edit or correct some of the information in the application form. Some of the details the candidate can edit include name, date of birth, category, state domicile, etc. However, the candidate is not allowed to edit the exam city. The schedule for the application correction will be notified by the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) at its admission portal - niftadmissions.in.

The NTA has released the admission schedule for the NIFT 2025 entrance exam, including the application dates.
With regular fees, application were open from Nov 22-January 6, 2025. However, with late fees, application were accepted up to January 9, 2025.
Candidattes applying a late fee will have to pay an additional INR 5,000.
NIFT has released the program-wise eligibility criteria that candidate needs to meet for admission to the design programme they are applying to. The National Institute of Fashion Technology currently offers B. Des, M.Des B.FTech M.FTech, and MFM courses at its 18 participating NIFTs.
