Hello,
First of all, you need to select the college or University you want to go in. In Master's course they conduct an entrance while in some cases. The admission are direct, so you have to get prepared for both. It doesn't matter, if you come from good place or backward you have to work hard.
All the best and give a like.

Many universities having humanities stream provide Ph.D. (English). You should have 55% in M.A. (English) - Duration is 4 years (if you possess M.Phil. (English) then duration is 3 Years) and the fees is on par with your PG only. Many universities are providing 4 times admission process in a year.

This university has its own negative and a few positive points. The admission might be easy and there will be a great deal of ease in doing the work as well. We cannot compare this university with any government university in terms of the quality of research. If you are getting admission and wish to keep some comfort in doing Ph.D. Go for it. From a government university, Ph.D. is a tough and time taking process.

Hello Syed,
What happened? From B.Tech in CSE to literature! Of course you must follow your passion and heart. This only will give you happiness. Normally integrated courses offer graduation with PG. But PhD is a different cup of tea. You can choose any college that is convenient to you to begin MA. Then you can choose your guide &research topic.
