It is important to go for the higher studies from reputed instituts so that you get the maximum benefit of career enhancement and pay cheque. Hard work is one of the aspects but more importantly, it is the college you have passed out from.
Rs 7 lakhs to 8 lakhs is a very mediocre salary range. MBA from reputed college is will fetch you package of Rs 12 lakhs to 16 lakhs on an average.
As for the MS Ramaiah Institute of Management, it is an average institute.

I can't point out any college in this regard. If you want to do MBA in MSRIM then I am sorry to say that it has been temporarily removed from academics. There is PGDM which is an autonomous course.

Finance specialisation is doing good after marketing. Good companies like Honeywell are visiting the campus for placements. The experience that you have may help in negotiating while you have the interview. It will obviously fetch you a good score in selection rounds. Overall placements are 96% for all specialisations. Detailed description on placements could be drawn from college administrative department.
All the best!

The main focus will be on your communication skills.
So, tell me about yourself:
Why do you want to pursue MBA?
Why do you want to take admission in MSRIM?
What are your strength and weaknesses?
Family details.
Your hobby.
Your interest.
Your passion.
There are going to be some GK questions too.

From other business schools, we are different in important ways. These differences are our focus, personal scale, group learning environment, faculty excellence in both research and teaching, and the high degree of loyalty flow from our guiding principles and values and shape our educational programs and strategic decisions.
