Yes, candidates need to score relevant marks in the UPES School of Design entrance exam, UPESDAT, to be admitted to the Bachelor of Design (B.Des) programme at UPES. Candidates can also have a relevant score in national-level exams like JEE/CUET, NID/NIFT/UCEED/NIFT Entrance Exam, and others. 

Candidates must also have at least 50% aggregate in Class 12 and 50% marks in Class 10th. The selection process for B.Des also includes a portfolio presentation and interview. 

UPES accepts JEE/ UCEET/ NID/ CUET/ NIFT/ UPES DAT  for Design courses.

BDes is provided in specialisations such as Product Design, Interior and Retail Space Design, Transportation and Mobility Design, User Experience and Interaction Design, Graphics & Communication Design, Animation and VFX, and Game Design. Apply for admission as soon as possible if interested to study any of these specialisations. 

The mode of UPES School of Design course admission is online. Admission to various courses is based on merit and entrance exam scores. The accepted entrance exams are  CUET,  NIFT Entrance Exam, JEE Main, NID Entrance Exam,  UCEED,  UPES DAT, and others. If applying through NID, candidates must know the NID exam pattern and solve as many NID question papers as possible.

BDes is the flagship course of UPES School of Design as students will go through a step-by-step learning experience so as to develop a comprehensive and complete understanding of interior design. UPES School Of Design arranges creativity workshops and provides various opportunities that form a part of the learning experience. Also, BDes students receive placements in top companies.

UPES School of Design flagship programmes are BDes and MDes. BDes is offered in seven specialisations. BDes students can opt for career opportunities such as Textile Designers, Teachers, Outside Sale Representatives, Graphic Designers, Design Managers, Costume Designers, Fashion Stylists, Fashion Forecasters, and others.
