It is not necessary to study associate of applied science before studying B.Sc applied science. However, you may need a minimum pass percentage in class 12 to apply for admission to BAS.

The basic eligibility criterion for pursuing a B.Sc (Applied Science) degree is qualifying 10+2 or equivalent examination in Science stream from a recognised board of the country. Some reputed colleges and institutes demand a minimum of 50% marks in 10+2 as qualifying criteria to secure admission in this degree course.
Also, a few of the very reputed colleges and institutes do conduct entrance examination to get admission to their B.Sc. (Applied Science) degree course. Selection to the degree course in these colleges is based on marks secured in the final merit I.e. total marks aggregated in the final exams of 10+2 and the entrance exam.
Admission Process for B.Sc applied science:
The admission to the B.Sc.in applied science courses is based on Class 12th percentage. Some universities also conduct their entrance exam for admission.
There are various colleges which offer 3 to 5 years Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) programme. Each college has different admission procedure for this programme. They give admission on the basis of the merit of Class 12th.
Some public and private college also conduct examinations for the admission to B.Sc in applied science degree courses.

Eligibility criteria: 10+2 Science stream passed with PCM (physics, chemistry and mathematics) subjects from a recognised board is the minimum qualification set by the majority of institutes offering this course. Note: In case of some institutes, 10+2 passed with science stream subjects will also do the trick! Minimum aggregate mark criteria, if present, is generally around 50% aggregate marks in science subjects.
Admission process depends on the institute. It could be merit-based admission process or direct admission process. If merit-based admission process is followed in an institute, marks scored by a candidate in board exam and/or relevant entrance test will be taken into consideration. Some reputed institutes are also known to conduct their own private screening/entrance test and interview.

Eligibility For PG courses (MS) : Students are expected to have at least 70-75% from a reputed Indian University. They are also required to appear for GRE (by some Universities) and a score of above 300 should do the needful. Also, it can boost a student's profile if he or she appears for the course even though the University has not requested for it. IELTS (6.0) or TOEFL (100) is also required.
The courses meant for international students are called International study programs and are taught in English. Hence, students looking for courses exclusively in English must look under the section specified above for their course or under Internationals'. Unless, a student has sound knowledge of German language no point in opting for courses taught in German otherwise. Some courses also have the option of doing a dissertation in German for which students need to prove their efficiency in German beforehand.
The students willing to learn German must do it through certified sources and in India students need to contact only Max Muller Bhavan and clear TesDaf. The level to be cleared is generally specified on the University website as it depends on what percentage of classes are conducted in German.
