No, direct admission is not possible in IHM Shillong. The admission is based on the merit and entrance exam scores. IHM conducts its own entrance exam under the National Council For Hotel Management (NCHM). The exam is held in two parts: the written and the interview. After clearing both rounds you can get admission in IHM Shillong.

Well, IHM Shillong offers a variety of courses in hospitality and tourism management. The best course for you totally depends on your interest. If you are interested in a career in the hospitality industry, then the Bachelor of Hotel Management (BHM) course is a good option. If you are interested in a career in the tourism industry, then the Bachelor of Tourism Management (BTM) course is a good option.

Both courses are accredited by the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering (NCHM&C).

Yes, IHM Shillong is a good institute for an UG Diploma. It is a government-funded institute. The institute offers a three-year Diploma in Hotel Management (DHM) course. The course is recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering (NCHM&C). The institute has a good infrastructure and faculty. The placement record of this  institute is also very good.
