There are two ways through which a candidate can get admission to the second year of B.Tech programme at SIT:

1. Lateral Entry: Candidates who have completed their Diploma Course/ Diploma in vocational Course from any recognised Polytechnic College, passed Diploma in Vocational stream in the same or allied sector as per AICTE norms, or passed B Sc Degree from a recognised university as defined by UGC with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidate belonging to SC/ST category) and passed H.S.C with mathematics as a subject as per AICTE norms can apply for lateral entry to the second year of B.Tech programme at SIT. The admission to the B.Tech second year programme of the institute will be based on merit in the Diploma Course
2. Direct Admission: Candidates who have completed their first year of B.Tech from another college can apply for direct admission to the second year of B.Tech programme at SIT. The admission will be based on the merit of the candidate in the first year of B.Tech.

In both cases, the candidate needs to fill out the application form available on the official website of SIT and upload all the required documents.

The admission process usually starts in June and ends in July.
