As such, USC does not have a university-wide minimum GPA requirement for admission into graduate courses. The applicants who want to take admission in the graduate courses of USC are evaluated on the factors like academic performance, statement of purpose, test scores, letters of recommendation, and whether or not their academic and research interests are the required fit with the degree program.

As specified by USC itself, there is no minimum requirement or cut-off for grades, class rank or test scores for admission. USC evaluates incoming first-year students through an individualized and compressive review process that takes many factors into account like academic performance and personal characteristics. USC will review the following things before granting admission:

  • Performance in school

  • Rigor of your program

  • Writing skills

  • Any test score, if submitted

  • Personal qualities as brought to light in community involvement, leadership and achievements

Hello Tejas Patil, I can understand your angst and the anxiety about admission in USC university. Like almost all universities, this too does not base it's admissions purely on academics but on different aspects seen together. It's best therefore to approach an agency dealing with sending students abroad for MS to US. They have the experience and wherewithal to help students fill up their CV with items helping in getting admission. Best wishes to you.

GRE and IELTS serve different purposes. IELTS (and TOEFL) is required to demonstrate English proficiency. GRE is a standardized test which is required if you are applying for admission to reputable universities like USC. So, you need to take GRE and anyone of TOEFL and IELTS.
