Techno Main Salt Lake is a good engineering college in West Bengal but Haldia Institute is slight better. When pursuing engineering from college of same brand value what make the difference is extra skills you acquire during the course. I will prefer Haldia but you can make decision on basis of fees, brand value, teaching quality etc. Try to pursue extra skills like AI/ ML/ Data Science during your engineering and can plan any engineering competitive exam which is in allignment with your B. teh like GATE/ UPSC Engineering services / SSC JE / ISRO etc. These exam require engineering knowledge thus do not require much extra efforts. It totally depends on how much can you can afford. The on-campus placement is more or less similar and off-Campus doesn't care about your college and care only about skills. So get into a college where you can develop your skills on your own. About the learning experience, I can say that the CS E. Department in JGEC is very good.

Placement is nearly 100% for CSE and IT department in IEM. The other branches like mechanical, ECE, and EEE also have good placement. Overall, the placement record is better than many colleges in West Bengal. TCS, Wipro, and Infosys are the mass recruiters on the campus. Adobe hired a girl at 44 lacs per annum as the salary this year.
