Velammal Institute of Technology does not conduct an entrance exam for admission into its courses. Admission to the college is purely based on TNEA (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions) Counseling. Therefore, the institute accepts TNEA scores for admission to its BTech courses.Velammal Institute of Technology (VITech) is a premier private educational institution established in 2008. It offers undergraduate courses in engineering and technology. The admission process is based on the candidate's 10+2 score and marks obtained in the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) counseling.

The cutoff marks required for B.Tech at VIT vary based on the programme and campus. The cutoff marks are not fixed and are determined by a panel of experts based on factors such as the difficulty level of the exam, previous year's cutoff trends, the number of candidates who appeared for the exam, and the number of seats available. The cutoff marks for VITEEE 2024 have not been released yet, but candidates who score 118 and above marks are likely to achieve a rank range of 1-250, while those with less than 31 marks may have a rank of 20,000 or below. The cutoff marks are different for each engineering stream and are published separately
