In the words of a former student of Yeshiva University; "Yeshiva University is a Jewish university, so can expect some degrees in Bible Study and Jewish Education. As per a former student of Yeshiva, there was lots of rabbi-inspired guilt, and a few rabbis actually worth listening to. It was highly competitive, God knows. Being an English major for the sake of teaching English was rare; most liberal arts majors were aiming for Law School or Psychology".
