3,000 More Students Lock BEd Seats at Kanpur University
Nearly 12,500 Kanpur University BEd Seats (3,000 in arts and 9,500 in science) are still lying vacant. Around 3,000 candidates locked their choices of colleges across the state during the second phase of counselling on 4th August 2011.
Hundreds of students participated in the counselling held at two centres set up at Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj University (CSMU).
According to Sandeep Singh, co-ordinator of BEd counselling at one of the counselling centres at CSMU, 74 students locked seats at his centre on 4th August. 46 candidates also locked seats in computer centre at CSMU, 100 at Dayanand Academy of Management Studies, 136 at SSA Institute in Naramau and 122 at Naraina Institute in Panki on 4th August.
Adding further, Singh said there are 70 BEd colleges affiliated to Kanpur University, offering the course in arts stream, while 45 colleges offer BEd in science.
He added that students with ranks between 1,30,000 and 2,10,000 have been invited to take part in counselling on Friday. Students from ranks 2,10,000 to 2,30,000 and 2,30,000 to 2,50,000 have been invited for counselling on 6th and 7th August respectively.
