Gauhati University Entrance Exam for Masters Programme

Gauhati University Entrance Exam for Masters Programme will be held on 15th July, 2011. The examination will be conducted for subjects namely Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Botany, Chemistry, Geography, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Zoology. Gauhati University Entrance Exam for Masters Programme will offer admission to students in M.A./M.Sc./M.CoM./M.L.I.Sc.

Established in 1948 under the Gauhati University Act, 1947 (Assam Act, XVI of 1947), Gauhati University is the first University in North East India. Over the years, it has evolved into an institute of repute offering under-graduate and post-graduate courses in Humanities and Social Science, Science, Engineering, Management, Commerce and Medicine in its campus and in the affiliated colleges spread all over the state. The university is also engaged in path breaking research in nearly all emerging areas despite its infrastructure constrains.

Eligibility for M.A./M.Sc./M.CoM./M.L.I.Sc.

• Graduates of Gauhati University and other recognized Universities in the (10+2+3) pattern with Major/Honours in the concerned subject.
• Arts and Science graduates of Gauhati University and other recognized Universities in the (10+2+3) pattern of General/Pass Course with at least 45% marks in the concerned subject as well as in aggregate and Commerce graduates in the (10+2+3) pattern of General/Pass Course with at least 40% marks in aggregate.
• A graduate of any discipline is eligible to apply for admission into MA Course in Mass Communication provided that he/she has 50% marks in aggregate.
