Girls steal the show at campus recruitment
As another academic year draws to an end, the organisations are on a look out for dynamic industry-ready freshers. The year 2012 is said to be the most promising year for employment sector as 5 lakh jobs are expected to be generated till the year end. Apart from a 12% hike in salary, an additional creation of 2,30,000 jobs is speculated for the Information Technology sector itself.
Since the campus placements are doing the rounds across the nation students need to be more focused. It is reported that in many of the campus recruitment, girls are taking the lead in terms of bagging lucrative offers. In Narsee Monjee, the two toppers were girls who were offered a salary package of Rs 30 Lakhs per annum. Recently Avsar, the Punjab University's Central Placement drive was conducted. Around 1,100 students have registered themselves, out of which 100 in the professional education cluster were placed yesterday. Rest of the placement drive including Humanities and Science students in Cluster II and III will take place today. Meanwhile, campus recruitment especially for the differently-abled took place on 1st March and companies from varied sectors participated in it. This step was taken by SV Polytechnic in association with Directorate General of Employment and Training of Government of India.
