IGNOU invites registrations for Psychology workshop

The Indira Gandhi National Open University's (IGNOU's) School of Social Sciences (SOSS), Department of Psychology invites registrations for a four day workshop on Biofeedback and Neurofeedback from 1st to 4th August 2011.

The workshop will provide an opportunity to learn the basics of Biofeedback and Neurofeedback. The participants will also learn Brainwave frequency reading, nature of waves, measuring waves, graphing waves, spectral analysis etc. and training in breathing, temperature, EMG etc. For the training Biofeedback and neurofeedback equipments will be used. Training and hands on practice will be given to the participants.

Biofeedback is a technique to record and analyze different physiological signals and retrain the physiological signals for better health. Neurofeedback is a technique to record brainwave activity, analyze brainwaves activity, present feedback on brainwave activity, train and retrain brainwaves for better mental cognitive performance. These techniques are highly useful for many psychosomatic problems. These techniques are an active training method and not a passive therapy like pill.
