IGNOU jointly distributed education awards to institutions

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) in association with the Center for Science Development and Media Studies (CSDMS) and Elets Technomedia distributed 42 world education awards at the World Education Summit 2011 to eminent education institutions at Hotel Ashoka in the capital.

A sprawling exhibition was also inaugurated by the special guests of honour Mr. Loynpo Thakur S Powdyel, Minister of Education, Ministry of Education, Royal Government of Bhutan, Dr. Taseer Al Nuaimi, Minister of Education, Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and Mrs. Vibha Puri Das, Secretary, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource and Development, Government of India at the venue displaying academic programmes/services of 33 participating educational institutions including IGNOU.

The special guests of honour to distribute the awards were Mr. Loynpo Thakur S Powdyel, Dr. Taseer Al Nuaimi and Mr. Kris Srikanth, Chairman, Selection Comittee of BCCI along with Prof. V.N. Rajasekharan Pillai, VC, IGNOU and Dr. Ravi Gupta, Executive Director, CSDMS. The awards were distributed in the category of best jury award and public choice awards.
