RET or Research Eligibility Test is an entrance exam taken by aspirants seeking admission to Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) program for the following departments of Bhasha-Bhavana(Visva Bharati, Birbhum).
Subjects: Arabic, Urdu, Islamic study & Persian, Bengali, Chinese, DEOMEL, Japanese, Hindi & Fucntional Hindi, Indo-Tibetian studies, Odia and Sanskrit, Pali & Prakrit.
This year the exam is scheduled to be conducted on Monday, February 11.
Eligibility:
- 55% marks at the PG level for general/OBC candidates
- 50% marks reserved category (SC/ST/PH candidates)
Exam pattern:
This two and a half hour paper (General paper: Half an hour; subject paper: 2 hours) is spread over two papers of 150 marks
- General Research Eligibility Test - 50 marks
- Subject Research Eligibility Test - 100 marks
Qualifying marks:
- 75(GRE=25+SRE=50) out of 150(GRE=50+SRE=100) for general OBC candidates
- 60(GRE=20+SRE=40) out of 150(GRE=50+SRE=100) for reserved category (ST/SC/PH) candidates
Important dates:
- Last date for submission of application: Thursday, January 03, 2013
- Date of RET exam: Monday, February 11, 2013(10 am - 12:45 pm)
- Results: March 5, 2013
