There are a couple of key differences between a MBA and an Executive MBA in the following categories:
Cost - An Executive MBA is usually about 2 to 3 times more expensive than a regular MBA.
Entry requirements - Regular MBA applicants usually have to write the GMAT or a similar test and have a minimum of 2 to 3 years work experience. Executive programs may waive the testing requirement depending on the applicants background (i.e. work experience and/or undergrad) and usually require a minimum of 8 to 10 years work experience.
Depth of course content - Regular MBA programs may go into more depth in terms of the content the courses cover, while Executive programs may cover more of a general overview. Most regular MBA programs will allow the students to select electives and/or specialize in a certain area. While some Executive programs offer electives, there usually isn't an opportunity to specialize.
Completion time & learning format - Regular MBAs usually take 2 to 3 years to complete. Executive programs are usually shorter (12 months to 2 years). Regular MBA programs can be full or part-time, but courses usually occur during the week (either during the day or in the evenings). Executive courses usually take place on the weekends or in week long intensives.
Experience of network - This is more of a consequence of the entry requirements, but in Executive programs you tend to get more experienced candidates and therefore your network may be more influential.

Executive MBA is a course for candidates who work full time while pursuing an MBA, and are hence working executives while they pursue an MBA. It is a part time, evening, distance learning or online program generally meant for people with 6 - 13 years of experience. Welingkar Online Institute provide good executive programs, though it is not equivalent to its regular MBA. It does provide a high ROI for the company you work and as an individual.
If you've less than three - four years experience in your line of work, consider going for Distance MBA to pick up some management oriented skill with which you can give a boost to your existing opportunities. However, if you've got 5-7 years of experience, then consider taking an academic break from work and fully devote yourself to gaining an executive MBA, which is an accelerated programme for experienced business leaders.
