Allahabad University on April 4, 2021, announced that in view of the increasing COVID-19 cases and considering the safety of students and staff members, the varsity has decided to cancel the deferred university examinations. In order to discuss various modalities, the exam committee conducted a virtual meeting. Among the decisions was to cancel the semester examinations for undergraduate 2nd and 3rd-year students and promote them. As for 1st year UG students and final year postgraduate students, the examinations would be conducted in July-August, depending on the situation.

According to the official notification published by Allahabad University on its Twitter handle, “students of 3rd-year undergraduate courses would be promoted and the marksheet will be awarded based on their performance in the previous year.”

“Students of 2nd-year undergraduate course, intermediate semester PG courses and professional courses will be promoted to higher class or semester,” the varsity added. There is, however, no update on how students would be marked and the official notice detailing the same is awaited.

As for final semester PG and professional courses students, the University decided to defer the examination. The exams will be conducted in July-August 2021. Also, the 1st-year undergraduate examinations would also be conducted in July-August. These dates, however, are subject to a review of the pandemic situation at the time. The decision was taken in view of the pandemic situation and to ensure continuity of learning. The online meeting was chaired by the Vice-Chancellor Rajiv Ranjan Tewari. Detailed notice is expected to be released soon on the official website alldunin.ac.in.
