Q:   Is Allahabad University under CUET?
A: 

Yes, Allahabad University accepts CUET-UG scores for admission to its UG courses. These courses include BA, BCom, BSc, BPA, BFA and Integrated BA LLB (Hons). All these courses are offered across multiple specialisations. To be eligible for this exam, all the UG aspirants must have completed their Class 12 with the relevant subjects. The details on the subject combinations required for different courses can be checked on the official website of CUET-UG. 

Q:   Is it possible to get direct admission to Allahabad University?
A: 

No, candidates seeking admission to the Allahabad University for most of its UG and PG courses have to appear for the CUET-UG and PGAT entrance exams, respectively. For a few courses, such as BBA, admission is subject to merit list created subject to the Class 12 scores. At Allahabad University, admissions for both UG and PG courses are ongoing. While for UG courses, the CUET UG entrance exam is scheduled to take place between May 21 and May 31, the PG course registrations via the PGAT entrance tests will go on till May 16. Post registration, the PGAT exam is expected to be conducted in the first week of June.

However, they will only get an admission if they have a valid CUET UG score. Q:   Are there any scholarships awarded by Allahabad University?
A: 

Allahabad University offers several scholarships to its students on the basis of the merit obtained in the NET exam. To know the details, refer to the below table:

  • UGC Scholarship: Under this scholarship, candidates are shortlisted through the NET exam. 
  • CSIR scholarship: As the name suggests, this scholarship is awarded by CSIR. Candidates are shortlisted based on the marks scored in the NET exam (Science stream). 
  • Rajiv Gandhi Scholarship: Offered by the UGC, this scholarship is offered to applicants, who belong to SC/ ST category. 
  • D.Phil.: Allahabad University offers this scholarship to all students with an amount of INR 5,000. 
  • ICHR: ICHR offers this scholarship to students with an amount of INR 5,000 and INR 12,000 (contingency).  
  • ICSSR: It is granted by the ICSSR to the selected students.  
  • ICPR: This scholarship is awarded by the ICPR. 
  • Nuclear Science: The scholarship is offered by the Nuclear Science Department.

Meghnad Saha Award is given to those meritorious students whonhave spent years on a significant research. For selection, all the nominations received will be duly screened and verified by the committee constituted by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor. College is good and it provides courses like B.A, B.Sc, B.Com, etc.
Placements: Placements are available only for commerce students and do not think it for our course BA. Approximately the highest package is 8 LPA, which is only for B.Com. Top companies like it welcomes a few ones only to hire students. Internships are provided from the college side if we want to do we can but college does not have responsibilities. I don't know about top roles because I belong to the B.A. course and they don't provide any internship for our course students.
Infrastructure: The hostel is in good condition with proper safety. If we want to go outside, then we need a proper letter from the college warden. Classrooms are also in good condition. The hostel and canteen are merged so the food are same. Sports are available for physical education students and not for all.
Faculty: Teachers are always available for help. There are properly scheduled classes. They are well-qualified and knowledgeable. As we know our college is affiliated with LU so all exams and courses are the same as LU. Before every semester, there is one mid-term for checking students' performance.
Other: My course is B.A. in sociology and geography. The geography department is the best department of all departments. For our courses, there are two departments that are good in everything, one is geography and the second is economics. There is an inter-college fest and no extracurricular activities.

The college environment is too sympathetic for studies.
Placements: My batch of B.Com 1st year is very friendly and helpful for group discussions on various topics of study. My college placement percentage is around 70-80% in any stream, and in the B.Com stream, around 60-70% of students are placed. My college students are working around the world.
Infrastructure: The hostel facility is too good, because girls' and boys' hostels are separate in the college. There are no complaints of ragging by the students and their families. At the center of the campus, there is a beautiful library. The indoor side of the library is a fully study environment created by the students and their librarians.
Faculty: The examination conditions are very strict, and students are instructed to come without smartphones or any electronic gadgets. My examination experience is very good, because the question paper is moderate and we can attempt all the questions. The exam hall conditions are good, there is a big clock for time line reminders for every student.
Other: In my college, events are held annually, including the Foundation Ceremony, National Pollution Day, Hindi Diwas, Independence Day, Republic Day, and many more.

The experience depends upon you totally.
Placements: No, our college doesn't provide placement facilities. Placements are offered for MBA programs and not for UG ones. You have to search on your own, whether it be an internship or whatever you're searching for; otherwise, the overall curriculum is good.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is nice; the buildings are good and well maintained. In the lab, canteen, and hostel, all the facilities are provided. Wi-Fi facility is there but not on the whole campus. The library is there and serves a variety of books. Overall, the faculty is good .
Faculty: The curriculum is strictly based on the syllabus prescribed by the University of Lucknow. So it totally depends on what curriculum is followed there. Apart from that, we have our midterm test, which overall helps in the preparation of final semesters.

Placements are disappointing.
Placements: Around 15 to 20% of students are placed. The highest package is 3 LPA and the lowest is 2.5 LPA. 20% of students got internships in TCS, Piramal Finance, etc. The top roles in my course are the development of skills and awareness of technologies.
Infrastructure: Facilities in the college are good, and the infrastructure is nice. All basic facilities are available for students to help them perform their best. The library is well-equipped with enough books and has a good seating arrangement. There is a green playground for students and a gym located behind the main entrance gate. Mess, canteen, and medical facilities are also available.
Faculty: There are well-qualified teachers available in our college, and their teaching style is unique as they always try to connect topics with daily life. The difficulty of exams depends on the students, but I want to say that the teachers are very helpful.
Other: I chose this course because I like exploring Science and Mathematics and really enjoyed it in this college, where I gained a better understanding of Science. I received a scholarship only in the 2nd year of my course. I think there should also be smart boards in lecture classes, as they would be more helpful for students to understand diagrams and concepts.

It provides a good campus environment and a good study environment.
Placements: Not many placements are received in this course. Students needs to take placement off campus by the degree. Top recruiting company for my course in Deloitte. The highest package for my course is 14 LPA and the lowest package is 5 LPA. Only a few percentage of students got placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. Wi-Fi facility is available all the time. Classrooms are well-maintained. The library has the availability of all types of books and a paced environment to study. There are well-maintained playgrounds for sports.
Faculty: Teachers at Allahabad University are well-educated and experienced. The teaching quality of professors is excellent. Faculty members make students industry-ready. Semester exams are not very difficult and the pass percentage is 40% in each exam. Faculty members are above average.
Other: I chose this course because the Master of Commerce is knowledgeable and gives experience about a lot of things. Scholarships are also received from the government in this course.

Don't take admission in Allahabad University.
Placements: The placements are the worst here. They don't give any opportunity to either sit in the interview or get placement opportunities. Neither does any company come, nor is there any placement cell. Only 40 to 50 students got placed, and most of them were off-campus.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of this college is very good, and the hostel is also quite good with reasonable fees, though the food is not that great. The commerce faculty is situated separately from the science and arts faculty, and its infrastructure is not as good.
Faculty: The teachers are well qualified and have passed JRF, but they tend to be a bit lazy. The course is not relevant enough to make students industry-ready, and there are no semester exams, only annual exams, which are very tough. In the first year, almost 40-50% of students fail and have to repeat the year.

Q:   What is the pattern of CRET exam conducted by Allahabad University?
A: 

The exam paper is divided into two levels. Level-I of the CRET test consists of two papers. Paper I has 50 objective-type questions of 2 marks each. Objective type 25 questions are from Research Methodology and 25 questions are subject-specific. There is no negative marking. Paper-2 is subjective with small, medium and long answer-type questions. The total marks of both papers are 300. Additionally, the application fee for the exam is INR 1,600 for unreserved and OBC category candidates and INR 800 for SC/ ST and PwD candidates.
