CBSE 10th Topper Interview 2026: Sarthak Ghosh obtained 98.6% and has shared some simple and practical tips that helped him succeed. He believes that NCERT textbooks are very important resource for CBSE students and focuses on understanding them well. Along with this, he regularly solved previous years’ CBSE 10th question papers.
Instead of counting how many hours he studied, Sarthak set daily targets and focused on finishing fixed number of chapters. This helped him stay productive and avoid wasting time. He also highlights that starting preparation early makes a big difference. According to him, writing answers neatly and managing time properly is important to score high marks.
Q: Congratulations on your result! How was your reaction after seeing CBSE 10th results? Did you score what you expected?
A: When I saw my result, I was grateful that my hard work had finally paid off. Though I was hopeful for a bit more, but I know I had done well.
Q: Please tell us something about your family background?
A: My father is an engineer and my mother is a doctor. I have a brother currently in college. Without them I could never have achieved these marks.

Q: Which subject did you find most challenging, and how did you overcome it?
A: The subject I felt was most challenging in my preparation was Social Science. I overcame it by focusing on understanding, rather than trying to remember everything
Q How important were NCERT books in your preparation? Did you use any additional resources?
A: NCERT is best source for CBSE. Every line of textbook is important and teaches you something. I solved a few CBSE 10th Previous Years Question Papers.
Q: What was your strategy to score 98%?
A: I think my strategy was based on understanding each and every concept clearly. Even if it was at times slower, I had a good understanding of subject. I made sure to read all extra information boxes, from which MCQs are often asked.
Q: Did you follow any specific strategy for revision in last 1 to 2 months?
A: In last 1 to 2 months, I went through NCERT textbooks to refresh my knowledge and timed myself as I solved PYQ.
Q: During your CBSE board preparation, what did your daily routine look like, and how many hours did you spend studying on average?
A: Rather than setting a timer on hours, I tried to target finishing a fixed number of chapters in a day, as I found that I would often waste time looking at the clock otherwise. I took small 2 minute breaks in between sections to keep my mind fresh. I am more of a night person, and found that my focus peaked when there were no distractions outside my window.
Q: What is your favourite subject?
A: My favourite subject would definitely have to be Mathematics. I love feeling of finally figuring out the solution to a challenging problem.
Q: What are your future plans? Which career path are you aiming?
A: I plan to pursue a career in engineering. I am focusing on class 11th preparation right now and hope to get a place in a too engineering institute.
Q: Please share some tips for students prepping to appear in CBSE Board Exams 2027?
A: My advice would be to start your preparation early and be thorough with NCERT textbooks. Presentation and time management matters a lot, which timer practice helped me improve on. Most importantly, remember to believe in yourself.
