In last two months, she focused on these gaps by revising those topics where she had previously lost marks in school exams.

Q: Congratulations on your result! How was your reaction after seeing CBSE 10th results?

Mili: Thank you so much! I am happy and relieved. While I was secretly aiming for slightly higher percentage, seeing final marks on screen was wonderful moment. I’m proud of what I have achieved.

Q: Please tell us something about your family background?

Mili: Both my parents are engineers, so there was always supportive environment for learning at home. My older sister Maya Rajesh was also a board topper with 99.2%. She has been my biggest inspiration.

Q: Please share your subject-wise marks?

Q: Which subject did you find most challenging, and how did you overcome it?

Mili: Science was probably my biggest challenge. I overcame it by breaking down tough topics into smaller, manageable sections and focusing on understanding rather than rote learning. Instead of just reading, I made sure I could explain concepts back to myself.

Q: How important were NCERT books in your preparation? Did you use any additional resources?
Mili: NCERT is my go to prep material for CBSE. Everything you need for exams is right there in those pages. However, once I felt confident with concepts, I used Previous Year Question papers as my primary resource.  This helped understand which sub topics asked in previous exams from each chapter.

Q: What was your strategy to score 98%?

Mili: There are no shortcuts to success, it comes down to consistent hard work. My strategy was to be meticulous. I didn't ignore anything. I even studied small information boxes and footnotes in textbooks that students often skip. I also treated every mistake in my school pre-boards as a learning opportunity.

Q: Did you follow any specific strategy for revision in the last 1 to 2 months?

Mili: I kept mistake log throughout the year. In final two months, I focused specifically on those recorded gaps in my knowledge. By revisiting exact topics where I had lost marks in school exams, I was able to plug the holes in my preparation and ensure I did not repeat them.

Q: During your CBSE board preparation, what did your daily routine look like, and how many hours did you spend studying on average?

Mili: I didn't focus on number of hours I sat at my desk. I focused on quality of my concentration. I stuck to consistent time blocks every day so that studying became a habit rather than a chore. Whether it was three hours or six, the goal was always to achieve a specific learning target for that session.

Q: What is your favorite subject?

Mili: Mathematics. It forces you to stay on your toes and provides a great sense of satisfaction when a difficult problem finally clicks.

Q: What are your future plans? Which career path are you aiming for?

Mili: I plan to follow in my parents footsteps and pursue career in engineering. I have already started my preparation for JEE, which I will be appearing for in two years.

Q: Please share some tips for students prepping to appear in CBSE Board Exams 2027?

Mili: My advice is to be consistent from day one. Don't wait for end of the year to start working hard. If you have a big dream, you have to be willing to make small sacrifices along the way. Most importantly, details matter. Don’t cut corners, and take your school labs, projects, and internal exams seriously.
