The Mizoram government has said that it will conduct the state HSSLC exam from June 16.
The Mizoram government has announced that it has decided to resume the examination for class 12 students which were earlier postponed due to the novel coronavirus outbreak followed by the nationwide lockdown.
As per the official notification, the Mizoram government has decided to resume the Mizoram HSSLC Class 12 board examinations from June 16, a media report stated.
The examinations of Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) for remaining subjects in arts, science and commerce streams will be conducted between June 16 and 18, according to a notification issued by the Mizoram Board of School Education (MBSE).
More than 4,500 students could not complete their board examination in Economics, Chemistry, Sociology, Computer Science and Home Science subjects, he said.
Earlier, the MBSE had planned to conduct the board examination from April 22, however, it was later postponed after students protest over the various inconveniences faced by them amid the nationwide lockdown.
The Board also announced that the compartmental exams for MBSE Class 10 students will be conducted on June 16 at 11 centers across the state. On May 13, MBSE 10th Result 2020 was announced.
Meanwhile, Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga said that his government is contemplating to extend the coronavirus-induced lockdown beyond May 31 in view of the influx of migrants from outside the state.
In order to avoid any academic loss of the students, the state government had started taking virtual classes for students on Doordarshan Kendra Aizawl. The classes were started from April 13 between 3 pm to 5 pm for class 10 students studying in science and commerce stream.
The total number of coronavirus cases in the country has crossed 1.5 lakh nark with 6,387 new cases and 170 deaths in the last 24 hours.
