AFMC does not conform to the usual company placement pattern; the majority of graduates join the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS). There are thus no distinct statistics available for placement in AFMC for the year of 2023 regarding 'companies' that provide placements.MBBS, MDS, and other graduates commissioned into the Army, Navy, or Air Force will be offered Permanent Commission (50%) and Short Service Commission (50%) on merit. Some of the paramedical graduates maybe enter into civilian jobs, but there is no record on company participation for 2023. The primary focus shall remain military service, is not on corporate recruitment, thus rendering this metric irrelevant in the classical sense.

The admission criteria for the various courses at the Armed Forces Medical College vary from programme to program. A score of more than 600 (out of 720) in NEET UG is generally the cutoff for mbbs, after which some screening processes go through adjusting the final merit. A score anywhere between 550 and 600 in NEET UG is required for the BSc nursing course, in addition to an AFMC-specific test. Admission to MDS relies on NEET MDS, and securing ranks within 1000 is competitive, equating to scores of 600-650 (out of 960). In case of MD/MS, it requires NEET PG scores above 550-600 depending on specialization, for a super-specialty DM/MCh course NEET SS score is a must, usually above 300-350 (out of 600).
