What is the Reliance Foundation Scholarship
Reliance Foundation Scholarship is a private scholarship programme for Indian students. It supports students in their first year of higher education. Reliance has been running scholarship programmes for over three decades. The Dhirubhai Ambani Scholarship started in 1996. In 2020, a separate scholarship for Artificial Intelligence and Computer Sciences was launched. In December 2022, Reliance Foundation announced 50,000 more scholarships over ten years. More than 33,000 scholarships have been awarded so far.
The programme has two separate tracks. One is for undergraduate students and one is for postgraduate students. Both run on the same portal and share the same last date.

Reliance Foundation Scholarship Amount for UG and PG Students
Up to 5,000 undergraduate scholars will be selected. Each one gets up to INR 2 lakh. This covers the full length of the degree, not one year.
Up to 100 postgraduate scholars will be selected. Each one gets up to INR 6 lakh. The PG money is released in two parts. About 80 per cent is given in advance at the start of each academic year. This part is for tuition and direct academic expenses. The remaining 20 per cent is released on request. It covers professional development, including conference costs.
The support goes beyond money. Scholars get mentorship and leadership development programmes. They meet industry experts. They join an alumni network that stays with them after the degree ends. Students at NIT Trichy, Vellore Institute of Technology and Manipal Institute of Technology have used this network for internships and placements.

No. You can apply to one track only. Your current year and level of study decide which track is open to you.
Reliance Foundation Scholarship Selection Process
The two tracks follow different routes.
The UG route has four stages. First comes the application form. Then the online aptitude test. Then the first level selection, where the test score, academic record and personal information are read together. Finally, up to 5,000 scholars are announced. All candidates are judged on a merit-cum-means basis.
The PG route has six stages. It starts with registration, then the application form, then the aptitude test. After that, an expert panel of industry leaders and academicians evaluates the applications. Shortlisted students attend a virtual interview. Interview preparation webinars are held for all of them. Up to 100 scholars are announced at the end. PG selection runs on merit alone.
Reliance Foundation Scholarship Aptitude Test Pattern
The aptitude test is compulsory for everyone. It runs for 60 minutes and carries 60 multiple choice questions. The paper checks three areas: verbal ability, analytical and logical ability, and numerical ability. Students at Jawaharlal Nehru University, University of Hyderabad and Aligarh Muslim University should practise basic reasoning and English before the slot date.
