SBI Platinum Jubilee Asha Scholarship is given by SBI Foundation. It is the CSR arm of the State Bank of India. The award starts at INR 15,000 a year for school students. It goes up to INR 15,00,000 a year for students studying abroad.  You need 75% marks in your last academic year. The income limit is INR 3,00,000 for school students. For all other categories it is INR 6,00,000. There is no application fee. Below you will find the category wise amount, eligibility, documents and apply process below.

SBI Asha Scholarship 2026-27 Latest Update

SBI Foundation has extended the last date. The portal now shows September 19 as the final day. The same date applies to all seven categories. There is no separate deadline for school or IIT or overseas applicants. School students, UG students, PG students, MBBS students, IIT students, IIM students and students going abroad can apply.

What is SBI Platinum Jubilee Asha Scholarship 

SBI Asha Scholarship was started in 2022. That was the Platinum Jubilee year of the State Bank of India. SBI Foundation says more than 36,428 students have been offered scholarships so far. Over INR 130 crore has been given out as financial aid. For 2026, the announced budget is INR 100 crore. It will cover 25,707 students.

The money is meant for study costs. This includes tuition fees, hostel charges, books and exam fees. It is sent straight to the student’s bank account. Students at Delhi University, Banaras Hindu University and University of Mumbai fall inside the institution rule for the UG track. 

SBI Asha Scholarship 2026-27 Categories and Scholarship Amount

Seven tracks run under one scholarship. Each track has its own rule. Each one has its own award. You can apply under only one track. Pick the one that matches your present course.

Two rules clear most of the confusion. A B.Tech student outside the IITs applies under the UG track. A BDS, B.Sc Nursing or B.Pharm student also applies under UG. The Medical track is only for MBBS. PG students at Jawaharlal Nehru University, University of Hyderabad and Jadavpur University come under the Postgraduate track, whatever their subject is.

Common Eligibility Conditions for All Categories

These rules apply to every track. Check them first.

• The applicant must be an Indian national.

• You need 7.5 CGPA or 75% marks in your last academic year.

• SC and ST applicants qualify at 65% marks.

• PwBD applicants qualify at 60% marks.

• You must be studying in the current session. Overseas applicants may instead hold a valid offer letter.

SBI Asha Scholarship Income Limit 2026-27

School applicants need a gross family income of INR 3,00,000 or less per year. For UG, PG, Medical, IIT, IIM and Overseas, the limit is INR 6,00,000 or less. Income proof is checked later. So the figure in your form must match your certificate. Students at Anna University, Savitribai Phule Pune University and Osmania University follow the same income limit.

SBI Asha Scholarship Reservation Policy

The portal shows one reservation pattern for all seven categories.

• 50% of seats are reserved for women.

• 50% of seats are reserved for men.

• 25% of seats are reserved for SC candidates.

• 25% of seats are reserved for ST candidates.

• 5% of seats are reserved for persons with benchmark disabilities.

How to Apply for SBI Asha Scholarship 2026-27 Online

The whole process runs on the official portal. You can save the form midway and finish it later.

1. Open sbiashascholarship.co.in and click Apply Now.

2. Create a free account. Enter your first name and last name exactly as on Aadhaar. Add an email ID and a password of at least eight characters.

3. Verify the OTP sent to your email. Then sign in.

4. Select the scholarship category that matches your course.

5. Fill in personal, family, income and academic details. Keep every entry same as your documents.

6. Upload scanned copies of all required documents.

7. Accept the terms. Then read the preview screen fully.

8. Submit the form. Save your application reference.

The portal does not allow any edit after submission. So the preview screen is your last chance to fix a mistake.

Category Wise Documents for SBI Asha Scholarship

Some tracks ask for extra papers. MBBS students upload a NEET scorecard and a medical college bonafide. IIT students upload a JEE Advanced scorecard and an enrolment letter. Students at IIT Bombay, IIT Madras and IIT Kanpur can get this from the academic office. IIM students upload a CAT scorecard and an admission letter.

Overseas students upload an offer letter, statement of purpose, IELTS or TOEFL score, ranking proof, passport and visa. For them a caste certificate is mandatory. Government school students without any fees do not need a fee receipt. A school letter confirming enrolment and no-fee status works instead.

SBI Asha Scholarship 2026-27 Selection Process

Selection has four stages. Clearing the minimum marks does not mean you will get the award. Seats in each category are fixed.

1. Forms are screened on marks and family income.

2. Shortlisted students may get a telephonic interview.

3. The team verifies all uploaded documents.

4. Final awards are declared as per programme rules.

Students at AIIMS Delhi, Maulana Azad Medical College and JIPMER Puducherry go through the same four stages.

SBI Asha Scholarship Payment and Renewal Process

The award goes straight to the bank account given in the form. An SBI account is preferred, not compulsory. The account must be in your own name. The name on the passbook should match your Aadhaar. Renewal is not automatic. SBI Foundation supports a student for the full course. But you must meet the eligibility rules again each year. Marks and income are checked at renewal time. So keep the new session’s marksheet and income proof ready.

How to Check SBI Asha Scholarship Application Status

Status shows in the same dashboard you used for the form. Sign in with your email ID and password. Then open your submitted application. Updates also come on your registered email. Check the spam folder too. Students at Vellore Institute of Technology, Manipal Academy of Higher Education and SRM Institute of Science and Technology track their form the same way.
