Directorate of Distance Education Alagappa University offers MSc course in a semester and non-semester system. The minimum eligibility for MSc is a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline. Alagappa University MBA course is offered through the Alagappa Institute of Management. Alagappa University offers a full-time two-year MSc programme in different disciplines. Admission to MSc (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics & Microbiology) programmes is done based on the entrance exam (50% weightage) and marks obtained in the qualifying examination (50% weightage) whereas admission to the MSc (Biotechnology) course is done based on the entrance test and interview marks. Admission to the remaining MSc programmes is done based on marks obtained in the qualifying examination only. Candidate should have completed Graduate/Bachelors degree (10+2+3 or 10+2+4) or equivalent in Computer Science / Computer Applications / Mathematics / other relevant stream from a recognised university to be eligible.

The Directorate of Distance Education was established in the Alagappa University during the year 1992. The Directorate offers Under Graduate and Post Graduate Programmes in the disciplines of Arts, Science, Education and Management.
