At the GIBS Business School, placement preparation starts early on, not just in the last year of school. The school places strong emphasis on continual training so that when students do get placed there is sufficient training at the time the actual placements take place.Starting from the first year: Students receive training during the first trimester through programs such as the Finishing School (CPMP) program.Continuous skill development: Throughout the entire course, students receive continuous skill development with respect to aptitude, communication, resume writing, and both group discussion (GD) and interview skills.Internship-based learning: Before actual placements, all students will have received practical experience through an internship.Formation of placement committee: Students can participate in the placement process from the first year, to understand how the process works.Timing for actual placements: Placements typically take place on campus starting in the second year (approximately in October) after the students have completed their training.

I feel for admission into GIBS Bangalore, you can take any of the common management entrance exams. The college accepts scores from exams like MAT, CAT, CMAT, XAT, and sometimes GMAT.MAT – Many students take this; widely accepted.CAT – Can also be used, but not mandatory.CMAT/XAT – Accepted and gives more options.GMAT – Useful if you also think about international options.I feel the easiest way is to pick one or two of these exams, prepare well, and aim for a decent score. That will give you a good chance to get into GIBS without stressing over a single test.

The assessment methods at GIBS Business School are different from the typical assessment methods of writing tests. Instead, the institute uses practical and continuous evaluation techniques for measuring students' actual abilities and readiness to work in the industry.Assessment Methods Other Than Written TestsStudents completing 'live' projects and internships will be assessed on their actual work with a company and how they performed in that work.Students will have to give presentations and participate in seminars to demonstrate their ability to communicate effectively, their level of confidence, and how well they understand the subject matter.Students will have to analyze actual business cases and will be graded on how they solved the problem in the case.Students will complete group projects and team-building assignments where they will be assessed on their teamwork and leadership abilities. The CPMP is a continual evaluation of students' soft skills, such as communication, personality, and professionalism.Through role playing and simulating different business situations, students will have the opportunity to demonstrate their decision-making skills.Classroom participation and activities will include classroom discussions, quizzes, and other interaction-based methods of evaluation.Students will complete written assignments and research projects as a means of assessing their ability to learn from their analytical and research experience. These methods of evaluating are used in most business schools today to assess students' practical skills, ability to work with others, and their ability to apply knowledge in real-life situations, rather than just through theoretical means.

In my experience, classes are structured well, so I focus properly during lectures and complete assignments on time. I don't keep work pending. That really helps during exams. For placements, preparation starts early here. We regularly have aptitude practice, mock interviews, presentations, and soft skills sessions. Because it's part of our routine, I never felt like I had to suddenly start preparing at the last minute.Along with that, I also take part in club activities and events. Honestly, those activities helped me improve my confidence and communication skills. I usually manage extracurriculars after classes or during event days, without affecting my studies.
