B.Sc. in Medical Lab Technology - Batch of 2025
Offered by George College, George Group of Colleges
4.8

It has good practical learning with supportive faculty and a beautiful college life.
Placements: We recently completed our course at George College. Around 80% of students from our course got placed through campus placements. It charges 2.5 lakhs for a 3-year course. All students received internship opportunities in many government hospitals. Mostly, lab technician and phlebotomist roles are offered in our course.
Infrastructure: Our department has well-equipped laboratories with modern instruments useful for practical learning. Classrooms are spacious and have projectors for presentations. Wi-Fi is available in most areas of the campus. The library is good with a decent collection of books related to medical lab technology and other references.
Faculty: Teachers in our course are generally helpful and qualified. They have good knowledge of the subject. Most of them explained topics well and supported students during practical sessions and exams. The overall teaching quality is good. The BMLT course curriculum is relevant and covers important theoretical and practical aspects needed for laboratory work. It provided a good base for entering the medical lab industry, especially after the internship. Semester exams are moderate in difficulty, not too easy and not too tough. With regular study and practical attendance, passing is manageable. The pass percentage in our batch is quite good, and it is around 85-90%.
Other: I chose the BMLT course because I am interested in the healthcare field and wanted to build a career in medical diagnostics and laboratory work. The best part of this course is the hands-on practical training, especially during the internship. It helps us understand how real diagnostic labs function. However, I wish the course included more advanced lab instruments and exposure to newer technologies. There were a few college events and fests, but not very frequently. The campus crowd is friendly and helpful. Connectivity to the campus is decent, with public transport options available.

George Group of Colleges are good and best college in MAKAUT University. It is a better place.
Placements: 70% of students get placed in my college. The highest package is 15 LPA, the lowest is 5 LPA, and the average is 3 LPA. Companies like Wipro, Tata Motors, Dell, Vivo, etc., hire students. As freshers, students are welcomed into this college and get nice and perfect placements. And get a higher degree from this college.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available. The library is good and disciplined. All technical courses are available in this college like BBA, B.com, B.Voc, Mechanical Engineering, and many more. This college is value for money and the best college I have ever seen.
Faculty: Teaching is also good and clearly studying us. The knowledge is good. They are the best teachers. Many students are placed in good companies. Not all, but 60% above students get a degree to get a nice quality of this college. Future students are also join in this college.
Other: BCA is a good course for learning and developing myself because I learn new technologies and many other things, including computer architecture. It is nice, and I will get a job after completing this course. All is good.

A fine college for those who are looking for affordable options.
Placements: I've talked to my seniors who have passed out, and some of them who were actually deserving have gotten fair placements, mostly from reputable companies. Recruiters from reputed and well-known companies like Amazon, Flipkart, Tata, and others visit our college. Almost 30% to 40% of students get internships. Roles in finance, marketing, and HR management are offered.
Infrastructure: Our college is built on a quite big area, but the buildings and infrastructure aren't that lavish; it seems more like a government college. Though there's AC in every classroom, and we're provided with computer lab facilities too. There's no canteen, no medical facilities, or any area for sports and games available in our college.
Faculty: In my opinion, the teachers of our college aren't updated according to modern teaching standards. There's a language problem too; our teachers' English is very bad. They mostly teach in Bengali. They aren't even cooperative in any case at all. Exams in our college are quite tough, with very strict invigilation.
Other: I had chosen this course because my actual aim is to do my own startup, and BBA was the best option. In my opinion, BBA is quite easy while being valuable. Adding more relevant subjects, emerging modern teaching skills, providing company visits, and more such things would make it more interesting and beneficial. Our college doesn't organize any fun events except for freshers', though educational events are frequently conducted. The location of our college is the worst; the surrounding environment is not okay for a college to be situated at all.

I am absolutely satisfied with the college facilities and the staff members.
Placements: 60% of students get placed in our course. Top roles like HR and auditor are offered. Top recruiting companies like TCS, Wipro, and Football visit the college to hire students from our course. It has a very good placement cell. If students do well in their semester exams and gain a good CGPA, then for sure they will placed in good company.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi, labs, and computers are available. The canteen is also available. It has very good facilities. The canteen is not big and it is of small size but you get very good and delicious food. There is enough space for sitting outside the college area. If we feel bored then a park is also available near the college.
Faculty: Teachers and HODs are very helpful and knowledgeable. Semester exams are not very difficult. If we study well then for sure we can do well in semester exams and we also get good placements. I suggest students choose the right course.
Other: Scholarships are also provided by the college. Events are also going on every few months.

Strong 2015 placements but limited recent growth.
Placements: 50% of MARKS students are placed in this course. The highest package is 6.10 Lacs per annum, and the lowest package is 4 Lacs per annum. Top companies are Lenskart, Titan, etc. 50% of students get internships. Best to study and practical. Top roles in optometry include optometrist, ocular health specialist, vision therapist, and optical product manager.
Infrastructure: Our department offers state of the art facilities including high speed Wi Fi well equipped laboratories modern classrooms with audio visual aids and access to an extensive library with physical and digital resources to support learning. There is no hostel in my college.
Faculty: The teachers were highly qualified knowledgeable and supportive ensuring excellent teaching quality. Yes the curriculum is relevant and prepares students for the industry. The semester exams are challenging with a pass percentage generally above average.
Other: I chose this course for its relevance to my interests and career goals and I value its practical skills and growth opportunities. I wish the course had more hands on opportunities clearer resources and better interaction with instructors for personalized feedback. I wish for more events better connectivity more green space and diverse extracurricular activities

My college experience wouldn't have been good without, I would have dropped out.
Placements: Placement ratio of our college is very poor. Only hospital management and optometry have some scope. Only startup companies are recruiting currently in my course. Almost everyone can get an internship, which is unpaid. Top role offered in my course is web development.
Infrastructure: Overall infrastructure is quite decent. Facilities are average, but many equipment required for my course BCA are available in the college. There are two computer labs, only one of them has good computers, while the other one is almost unused. Medical facilities are rare, and there are no sports activities.
Faculty: Teachers are not highly qualified, but they have immense knowledge and experience in their field of teaching. A few of the new teachers are inexperienced, with minimal knowledge and no teaching skills. Course curriculum is relevant in the long term, but only if one pursues MCA from a reputed college, otherwise, it feels like a waste of time and money. Semester exams are decent, but university questions are often surprising because they don't follow their question pattern. Most of the questions are out of the syllabus. The pass percentage is 40%.
Other: I chose the course because it has immense application in this new era, the computer era, with AI technology advancement to learn new things. The best thing about this course is that one can innovate and upgrade every day with new technology advancements.
