Admissions are normally conducted through the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA). Candidates will be selected mainly based upon 12th standard marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and also based on counseling sessions based on the TNEA rank.

The internship and training opportunities at the Government College of Engineering, Karad are agreeably good as several prominent organizations visit the college for hiring. The renowned IT recruiting companies are TCS, Cognizant, Wipro, Persistent, and Capgemini. In general, graduates are offered an average salary package of Rs 4 LPA, however, some students have been placed with the highest salary package of Rs 25 LPA. Alongside this, the college has a good alumni base which extends a helping hand to the current campus placement process. The present placement cell of the college is very active and always engaged for providing better job prospects for its students.
