B.Tech in Textile Technology at Government College of Engineering and Textile Technology, Serampore, can be chosen due to its unique strengths, such as a broader focus on engineering disciplines, proximity to Kolkata for internship and placement opportunities, and a research-oriented department with proper facilities. The college has a good reputation, with experienced and knowledgeable professors, and a beautiful location beside the Ganges. However, it's essential to note that the textile programme may not be as highly valued as other branches like CSE or Electrical Engineering, and students should consider their interests and career goals before making a decision.

Yes, branch change is permitted at the Government College of Engineering and Textile Technology (GCETT) Serampore under specific conditions. The branch change policies are normally made on the basis of academic performance, seat availability, and institutional rules. Students who seek to change their branch usually must have high academic marks in their first year and then apply for transfer on merit. For the best and the latest information, I would suggest visiting the official website of GCETT Serampore or directly contacting the college administration.Hope this Helps!
