Government Engineering College Bhavnagar has really good faculty, facilities, & infrastructure.
Placements: 51% of students are placed in our course. The highest package offered is around 5 LPA. The average package is 3.5 LPA. Companies like TCS, TatvaSoft, eSparkBiz, and Casepoint have come to recruit students. Roles Software Development Engineer, Full-Stack Developer, and Frontend/Backend Developer are offered by companies.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is provided, but it is too weak, with just enough speed to barely run websites. Computer labs have good-quality CPUs with better processors and updated versions. Classrooms are good enough. The library has really good infrastructure. The hostel provides some accessories to settle in, like proper beds, chairs, tables, and drawers. However, there is only a mess in the college and no canteen for the boys' hostel.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Some teachers have really good behaviour when interacting with students. Some of them are rude. Overall, they are always ready to help in the end. The course curriculum is relevant. It makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are difficult. The pass percentage is 36%.

Good college with affordable fees and decent placements.
Placements: GEC Bhavnagar provides decent placement opportunities for Computer Engineering students. Companies like TCS, TatvaSoft, Meditab, and eInfochips recruit students. Roles include software development, testing, web development, and business development. Students also get internship opportunities.
Infrastructure: The Computer Engineering department has proper classrooms, computer labs, library facilities, and internet connectivity. Labs are sufficient for regular practical work, although some facilities and infrastructure could be upgraded further. The hostel provides basic facilities at an affordable cost. Mess food is average and can be improved in terms of variety and quality. Sports and other facilities are also available for students.
Faculty: Faculty members are generally qualified and supportive. Students can approach teachers for academic doubts. They can also approach them for guidance. The curriculum covers important fundamentals of programming. It also covers databases, computer networks, operating systems, software engineering, and other computer engineering subjects. Students need to learn additional technologies. They also need to improve their programming skills. Practical development outside the syllabus is important to become fully industry-ready. Semester examinations follow the GTU pattern. They require consistent preparation.

The faculty is the best and most qualified one.
Placements: In the year 2025-26 batch my seniors' batch 60 percent of students got placed among them 50 percent of students got placed on campus and the remaining 10 percent got placed off campus. The highest package is around 10 LPA, the lowest around 2.5 LPA, and the average around 3-4 LPA. The top recruiting companies are TCS, Tatvasoft, and eSparkbeez. 90 percent of students got an internship in TCS and other offline companies like Meetanshi, Milopole, etc. (local companies). The top roles are web development, software engineer, cybersecurity experts, trainees, etc.
Infrastructure: The facilities available in my college are like the ADM block where you can arrange the society programmes. In the classroom there are projectors, Wi-Fi (per department), all the labs are there like for every department. For computer engineering there is a separate lab for it, also it has one canteen, library, and one stationery store, and it also has one Paramshavak supercomputer. It's very worth for the computer engineering department. So in GEC's official hostel the quality is very average and the food is decent also there are no such courts or ground for sports.
Faculty: All the teachers are very qualified and many of them have completed their Ph.D., and many are pursuing a Ph.D. so they are very qualified. Teachers are very helpful and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is the best. The course curriculum is relevant, it makes the students industry-ready. All the subjects are designed in such a way that you become industry-ready. The difficulty level of the college exam is 7 out of 10. It is tough but if you're prepared well then you can pass it easily. The pass percentage is around 70 percent.
Other: I chose the computer engineering course because it has high packages and I also have an interest in coding and computer-related things. The best things about my course are that it has coding and high-level packages, you build a crazy project, you can work on real-world problems, and you can also take part in different hackathons. I wish that they would improve practical works rather than theoretical ones. There are 11 to 12 societies like the finance club, GEC BVN, Bits to Bytes, dance dystany, media cell, etc, so they arrange events.

This college is good for admission.
Placements: 10 percent of students are placed in our course. I think no more placements are in the EC department. There are no top recruiting companies for our course. I don't know the percentage of students who got internships from our course and in which companies. I think they are placed in IT companies.
Infrastructure: The computer lab is good, and Wi-Fi is available in all departments in our college. The classroom is okay and needs big black or whiteboards. In the hostel, the food is not tasty. In the college, the canteen is not good, and sports are not available.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable, but have expectations. The teaching quality is moderate. This course curriculum is relevant. It makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are moderate in our college. 70 percent is the pass percentage. Some faculty members are good, and some are bad for studies and practical.

Infrastructure: Our facilities and infrastructure available is very good culture & very good environment before the classes. our college Wi-Fi system is very high-speed & library equipment and instruments is very good and high quality and our college sports system is very big.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is good. This course is curriculum-relevant, and it makes the students industry-ready. The semester exams are moderate, and 70 is the passing mark in my class.
