For admission to the BTech programme at IIIT Bhagalpur, the candidates are required to meet certain eligibility criteria, one of which is having a minimum of 75% in class 12. This means that the candidate must have scored at least 75% marks in their class 12 board exams from a recognised board or university.

IIIT Bhagalpur offers courses in undergraduate, postgraduate, Doctoral and Diploma level. Bachelor in Technology or BTech is the flagship course offered under UG level and under PG level Master in Technology or M.Tech is offered. As for the Doctoral-level PhD in multiple specialisations like CSE, CEC, etc., is available at IIIT Bhagalpur. There are three BTech specialisations for BTech at IIIT Bhagalpur namely Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Mechatronics Engineering. Mechatronics Engineering has 33 seat allocated, meanwhile other two specialisations have 66 seat each. Admissison to the BTech specialisations includes a valid scoe from the JEE Main exam followed by counselling.

MTech programme offered by IIIT Bhagalpur isn't free of cost. Candidates are required to pay the tuition fee amount of  INR 2 Lacs at the end of the admission procedure.These fees are excluded of other fees that are payable only at the time of admission. Other than the programme fee candidates have to pay a application fee for the GATE exam while registering for the exam. The applicatipn fees are : Female/SC/ST/PwD candidates need to pay INR 900 while all other category candidates will have to pay INR 1800 as application fees. Yes, IIIT Bhagalpur does offer Diploma courses at post graduate level. PG Diploma course is offered in Digital Business Management and Software Engineering Management. It is a twenty-four-month duration programme, which aslo offers paid virtual apprenticeships with global companies. The selection to IIIT Bhagalpur BTech programme is based on the candidate’s JEE Main exam score followed by the centralised counselling process regulated by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) through which they are allotted a seat. The seat allotment also depends on the college cutoff and a candidate’s preference for that course and college. JoSAA registrations usually begin from the third week of June in online mode. However, the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) manages the counselling process for the remaining vacant seats.
