Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) - Batch of 2019

Good college at a low price point.
Placements: Government college placements are average. BCA 2 to 3 companies visited our college. TCS, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, etc., visited our college. The highest package offered was 2.8 LPA, and the lowest package offered was 1.8 LPA. 10 to 15 students got internships from TCS in the 2nd year.
Infrastructure: The campus was good. Wi-Fi was all over the campus, and there was CCTV security. Computer labs were spacious and good. Classrooms were spacious and have been digitally updated. The library was good, and was also open at night. Hostels had an average of 2 to 3 seats. The mess food was very average. A first aid kit was available in the college and hostel.
Faculty: Faculty members were good. They were highly educated and experienced. They all did their Master's and Ph.Ds. The course was good, it makes students ready to explore a new world. There were two semesters in a year, and each semester had two sessions, which were conducted by the college. Each semester had presentations and assignments.

It has excellent facilities and faculty members.
Placements: I am very disappointed about placements because in this course, none of the students are provided with placements. But some extraordinary 5% of students get placed here. I don't have any idea about the salary package offered to students, but now mostly students are working with a good job.
Infrastructure: Facilities are provided by the college. Classrooms are clean, large, and well-maintained, providing students with a comfortable place to stay. Classrooms require air-conditioning and smart boards, which create an ideal setting for learning and academic growth.
Faculty: In 2019, we had good faculty members. They supported us in every step. The course curriculum is relevant. Their teaching quality is also good. They provide some extra classes for those students who are weak in their studies. The pass percentage of college is 70%. Semester exams are not very tough.
Other: No scholarships are provided in all three years. I would like to wish that the extracurricular activities should be improved.

This college is good for BCA course admission in Pondicherry, with the best campus placement.
Placements: In this college, the placement faculty is organized for campus placement. There are many companies interested in this college. The companies provide a salary from 4-9 LPA, and 9 LPA is the highest salary in this college's history. There is 2 years agreement and students are not allowed to resign from the company.
Infrastructure: The facilities provided by the college are very good, and they use the best quality material. The hostel facility is not provided. The canteen food is hygienic, but the cost of the food is very high. The college has a Gymkhana committee that organizes games and sports tournaments.
Faculty: This course is a total of a 3 to 4-year Bachelor's degree course for admission in 2025 and 2026. The course teachers are very good at teaching the knowledge provided on the subject. They teach each and every topic prepared for the exam.

Indira Gandhi College of Arts and Science for intake in BCA course.
Placements: This course is very good, company is involved. Hiring the best student for best package like 3 LPA to 10 LPA the highest package provided. In this college, every year 40% of students are placed in companies and it does not offer any roles.
Infrastructure: This college provides many facilities for every student. But hostel facility takes extra charges in your fees. In this course, infrastructure available like college department, placement campus, classroom, bathroom, library, CCTV, AC, etc., facilities are available.
Faculty: In this college, faculty and staff bahavior is very good. But this college teachers and professors are very strict about following all the instructions of the teachers. This course is 4-year course duration for 8 semesters exam. It is 3 years, not difficult. But last year was very difficult to clear.

Qualified lecturers are available in our college.
Placements: Few placements have occurred in our course with a good salary package of 6.5 lakhs per annum. Companies like Wipro, HCL, etc., have visited our college. Few students got internships in other sectors. The roles offered in our course are Data Science and Master of Computer Application.
Infrastructure: Our college provides good facilities in both the hostel and college. They offer food in the mess and canteen. A library with subject-related materials is available. A medical kit is provided in emergencies. Wi-Fi is available in both the college and hostel. Sports are conducted every semester.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified and knowledgeable. Their teaching methods help us understand the courses or subjects. Our course curriculum is not very rigorous. Semester exams are quite easy to pass with 36 marks as the passing score in our college. We also have extracurricular exams related to our course.

B.Com. in Foreign Trade - Batch of 2024
3.6
3Placements4Infrastructure3Faculty3Crowd & Campus Life5Value for Money
My review of Indira Gandhi College of Arts and Science, Puducherry.
Placements: In this college, there is no big opportunity for placements. Mostly there will be no placements. Sometimes a small chance for placement even in some small companies with lower reputation are provided to select students. The best way is to learn here and search for jobs outside.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is not that rich like other private colleges, and the fees is too affordable here because it is a government college. Even a middle class family’s child can afford to study here. The facilities are quite average with only basic facilities provided.
Faculty: The exams are conducted properly as per the guidance of Pondicherry University on the dates unannounced by them. The semester exams are not too difficult in my course of B.Com foreign trade compared to others. It is easy to prepare and you can easily pass in all the subjects.
Other: I chose this course because I am interested in the commerce field and the main reason was that it is a government college so the fee too is affordable for me.
