The food over at Karnataka College of Management hostel mess has received mixed reviews though it tends to be more positive than negative. Most of the students say that the food is hygienic, healthy, good and even delicious and that the food caters to the different tastes and hence has both North and South Indian food. There are reviews that point at a selection of good choices and food that is like at home. But some of the older reviews note that the food is either not good or a bit average, implying that there is some fluctuation. According to official writing of the college, they do focus on hygiene, quality and cleanliness.

Prospective students must hold a Bachelor's degree of at least three years duration with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks (45% for reserved categories). Following this, a valid score from one of the accepted management entrance exams – KMAT, Karnataka PGCET, CAT, MAT, GMAT, or XAT – is mandatory, with a preferred percentile of 60 or above. Shortlisted candidates then proceed to a Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) round, with some sources also mentioning an aptitude and written test as part of the comprehensive selection process.
