The NID DAT is a design aptitude test and does not assess academic performance. Candidates will be evaluated based on their design skills, creativity, and general knowledge. However, candidates must have passed Class 12 or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks to be eligible for the exam., you do need a minimum percentage in the 12th class for getting admission in the National Institute of Design (NID).

The National Institute of Design, Andhra Pradesh (NID AP) established in September 2015, is the second autonomous multi-disciplinary design institute, under the DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.

It currently offers full-time four year Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) programme in Communication Design (CD), Industrial Design (ID) and Textile & Apparel Design (TAD).

So, every course is best. The institution offers 90% placement record. As per the reaserch I did on internet, I come to know that the average package is 15 lakhs.

I would recommend to do detailed analysis of the Courses and then go for it.

Further, candidates who meet the NID DAT cut off are considered for the admission process for BDes admission 2024-25 batch. NID DAT exam 2024 registrations are ongoing.

The cutoff marks for B.Des vary depending on the institute and the specific design specialization. However, in general, you will need to score between 80% and 90% in your qualifying examination (usually 10+2 or equivalent) to be considered for admission to a B.Des program. You will also need to take and do well in an entrance test, such as the UCEED (Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design) or the NID DAT (National Institute of Design Aptitude Test).

General category: 90% to 95%

OBC category: 85% to 90%

SC/ST category: 80% to 85%

The minimum cutoff for B.Des at NID Vijaywada/ National Institute of Design, Andhra Pradesh is 50.4. This is the overall cutoff for all B.Des programs at NID Vijaywada. The cutoff for specific programs may vary.

NID Vijayawada includes a large canteen where students have a choice of foods.
NID supplies students with wholesome meals through the student mess committee.
Every meal should be had in the dining room at the appropriate time.
Food delivered to rooms is prohibited, and no one is permitted to carry any kitchen utensils outdoor.

Within the GATE complex, there is a Boy's Hostel, a Girl's Hostel, and an adjacent Mess facility. There are 208 rooms available in the hostel, which can house up to 292 students.  There are amenities like a doctor on call, a car for any medical emergency, a dining facility that accommodates the cultural variety of India, and a common area with utilitarian and recreational equipment in addition to the residential quarters and GATE site. The National Institute of Design, Andhra Pradesh (NID Vijaywada) has 75 seats available for the Bachelor of Design (B.Des) curriculum. There are three disciplines in which these seats are divided:

-25 seats for industrial design

-25 seats for communication design

-25 seats for textile and apparel design

Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories are also eligible to apply, in addition to the general seat intake. These seats are reserved in the following order:

-SC: Eleven seats, or 15% of the available seats,

-ST: six seats, representing 7.5% of the available seats overall

There may be a little annual variation in the total number of seats available for each discipline. The total number of seats, which is 75, is unchanged.

It is the sole responsibility of the candidate to provide correct and verifiable information during the application process. If the candidate is found to be using incorrect or couterfeir information, his or her candidature could be cancelled at any stage of the admission process. Further, if the candidate tries to influence, either directly or indirectly, to influence the management or employees, then also the candidate could be disqualfiied.
