NIELIT Gangtok UG, Certificate Courses 2025

Yes, NIELIT Gangtok does offer certificate courses for the duration of four weeks to one year. The eligibility criteria to get enrolled in certificate courses differs according to the type of courses the candidate wants to pursue. These courses at the institute are offered via online and blended mode.  NIELIT Gangtok is not a college. It is a training and certification institute under the National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), which operates under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India.

Entrance exams are conducted by different universities and states in order to select candidates for the UG Diploma courses. The basic eligibility criteria for the UG Diploma course is that the candidates must have passed their 10+2 from a recognised board. The aggregate may vary according to the norms advocated by the university or the state. The eligibility criteria for courses based on computers will be that the candidates should have passed their 12th from a recognised board and have knowledge of basic computers and Internet concepts. 10+2 passed candidates with knowledge of basic computer and Internet concepts are eligible for a few UG Diploma courses.

You can apply directly to NIELIT Gangtok by following the admissions procedures, of course. Enrollment in short-term courses is available all year round and is based on merit. Admission to non-formal courses is held twice a year, in January and July. Press announcements (Sikkim Express, Hamro Prajashakti, Dainik Jagran, etc.) and the center's website (nielit.gov.in/gangtok) are occasionally used to announce admittance. Candidates may apply directly for admission if they fulfil the requirements for that particular course. Applicants may submit their online applications at student.nielit.gov.in, the NIELIT student portal. Aadhaar card must be present for the candidate to fill out the application.
