NIF Global Saltlake is recommended.
Placements: Placement percentage rate is quite low from the college, but their portfolio development process is quite detailed, which can provide job offers on our own. The average package ranges between 2.5 and 6.85 LPA. Top recruiting companies like Rajlakshmi Private Limited, etc., offer more jobs under the merchandising unit. All students got internships as it is a part of the curriculum. Top roles offered are VM, merchandiser, and sales executive.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of the college is good, offering particular subject labs, especially CAD room, pattern lab, construction lab, and a library on multiple floors. Classrooms have projectors that make it easier for detailed and visual classes. There is no canteen in the college.
Faculty: Best part of college is its faculty members. They are very helpful, understanding, and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality is great in terms of practical life examples. Course curriculum is quite updated with industry-level knowledge. Semester exams are divided into internal and external examinations, including jury presentations and in-house digital examinations.
Other: Several in-house exhibitions and fashion shows take place, which makes students tackle real-world and industrial work.

I will not recommend this college.
Placements: Only a fraction, approximately 20-30 percent, of the students are able to secure placements. However, the outcome of the interview plays a crucial role in determining their success. The highest package offered to students was valued at 30000, while the lowest package stood at 5000. Numerous companies, including Godrej, actively participate in the placement process. Upon completion of the course, students have the opportunity to pursue careers in software and sales, with a primary focus on software-related roles.
Infrastructure: There is a single laboratory available, however, students are required to purchase their own laptops in order to store their files. The quality of our college is excellent, although there is no canteen on campus. I recommend hiring additional teachers, especially high-quality ones, as this institute is currently lacking in that area. Annual exhibitions are organized by the college. As far as I know, there is no medical facility provided on campus.
Faculty: Exams are scheduled at the discretion of the subject teachers, while the completion of the course is determined by the students themselves. I am quite dissatisfied with this situation, as my course should have concluded by now but is still ongoing. The exams do not pose a significant challenge, and I am unaware of any pass percentage requirement.
Other: People are friendly.

Nice infrastructure. Great for learning experience.
Placements: 16 students were placed in my batch. The highest package - 60000 rupees and the lowest package - 20000 rupees (these are of my batch). Top recruiting companies are Godrej Interiors, Blackberrys, etc. 60% students got placed as interns in different companies like Godrej interio and blackberrys. Top roles offered in advance programming in interior design are interns and designers.
Infrastructure: There is Wi-Fi and air conditioners available for all the classrooms. There is a library too. There is no lab. Students bring their own laptops to learn software like Autocad. Quality of the classrooms are very nice and they are neat. Projects are also available for presentations and teaching purposes. There is no canteen in the college. You have to get out of the college to get food. But there are a lot of cafes and restaurants available. It is near city centre 1.
Faculty: Teaching is helpful but it is slow. They will take more than two years to complete your course. Semester exams are not difficult if you payed attention in the class. They make the students industry ready. The teachers there are very qualifies. They are all architects and know what they are doing.
Other: I chose this course because it was a 2 years course and that was suitable in my situation. There are a lot of events and activities going on so do take part in them. Get yourself known in the campus. That is the most helpful for you.

Best institute in Kolkata.
Placements: INIFD Saltlake offers excellent placement opportunities. Well-known brands such as Calvin Klein, Mango, Manyavar, Blackberry, Homelane, Berger paints, and many more come for placements. Almost 90% of students got placed in a renowned brand that is offering a good package.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very good. The campus is clean, hygienic and all necessities are provided. Fully air-conditioned classrooms, proper stitching machines, craft-making accessories everything is provided to the students.
Faculty: All the faculty members are highly professional yet very helpful to us students. They are experts in their area and groom us to be industry-ready. They are very supportive when it comes to academics, extra-curricular or personal projects.
Other: The events, design exhibitions, and fests held on our campus are extremely fun with a lot of creativity and innovation. Our institute is linked with LONDON Fashion week, Lakme fashion week, New York fashion week.

My introduction to the world of fashion.
Placements: We were a batch of 22 students and only 5 of us got internships for a month at a multi-designer store named Vedam and 3 candidates amongst us were hired under the same company. The highest designation offered during our course was of a fashion consultant at Tommy Hilfiger.
Infrastructure: The college did not have a campus like other colleges but the infrastructure was sufficient enough to support our academics. There were no canteen, hostel, medical or sports facilities. We were provided with machines, computer systems, a library, and a little kitchen cum laboratory.
Faculty: Faculty members were knowledgeable and very approachable. They provided every sort of support to the students and worked towards making the students industry-ready. The course covered 12-14 subjects every semester and exams were held under strict invigilation.
Other: I chose this course to get my skills honed as a fashion designer as this was my dream since my childhood. I learned how to illustrate, stitch and design apparel, be it for kids, women, or men. The college always used to organise fests, exhibitions, and fashion shows inside the college which used to be the platforms for students to interact with each other. The events were always educational and fun at the same time.

INIFD Saltlake guided me during my tenure and helped me in every way to fulfil my dreams.
Placements: Almost 100% of students got placed in the most renowned sectors. Mango, Blackberry, Clavin Klein, Asian Paints, Berger Paints, Homelane, etc., are some popular companies where we got placed. We got handsome salary packages. Students get their internships through college or on their own.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure are clean, tidy and comfortable here. There is every facility for students, like all the classrooms, including garment-making labs, library, etc. They are well-equipped and fully air-conditioned. The library is stocked with essential books, which helps students a lot.
Faculty: The faculty members here are highly qualified, experienced and supportive. They are pros in their own field and always motivate us students to be better. Our teachers always guide us in every aspect like during personal projects, events, exhibitions, etc.
Other: INIFD Saltlake organises fests, exhibitions, events, etc., every year. Students get a chance to participate and showcase their creativity. Renowned celebrities visit our campus from time to time. There is a lot of fun during these events. Our institute is partnered with London Fashion Week, Lakme Fashion Week, New York Fashion Week, which is fabulous for students for global exposure.

The NIF Global average package offered during the 2024 placement drive is yet to be released on the official website. Once it is released, it will be updated here. However, the minimum package offered stood at INR 1.80 LPA.

The total tuition fee for the NIF Global Saltlake BDes course is INR 5.2 lakh. Candidates need to pay course fee after completion of the selection rounds to confirm their seat. In case a candidate is unable to pay the fee within the stipulated time, his or her admission stands canceled.
