Due mainly to entrance exam criteria such as KCET or COMEDK UGET for merit-based seats admittance to SEACET is somewhat tough. While less competitive professions like civil engineering may accept ranks as high as 100,000 prominent branches like computer Science may have high cutoffs for KCET frequently needing numbers below 50,000. The COMEDK cutoffs for top branches are also very strict. Although it is simpler to obtain management quota seats the fees might be as high as INR 10–15 Lacs over a four-year period. Early application and excellent academic standing increase chances particularly for seats that are limited.

S.E. For engineering education, a College of Engineering & Technology is regarded as a good option. Experienced instructors, state-of-the-art facilities like sophisticated labs and a curriculum that is in line with VTU requirements and enhanced by workshops and internships are some of its strong points. Although packages average 3–8 LPA and there are few possibilities in key branches placements are respectable with 40–60% of grads landing positions at firms like TCS. Although the infrastructure is kept up nicely the research exposure and hostel amenities may use some work. Reviews from students give it a 3.5 out of 5 noting that the professor is helpful but the placement quality varies. For individuals who value affordability and academics it's a wise investment.

There are differing opinions about the food quality in SEACET hostel mess. With a focus on health, the mess serves hygienic vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals along with clean water. Some students express displeasure stating that the cuisine is of ordinary to bad quality, lacks variety and occasionally falls short of their expectations. Although the cafeteria provides more affordable meal options reports indicate that the food and presentation are inconsistent. Students opinions differ despite efforts to preserve hygiene some enjoy the variety while others find the cuisine unimpressive indicating that the quality and diversity of the menu might be improved.

There are several ways for candidates to enroll in B.E./B.Tech programs at S.E.A College of Engineering & Technology (SEACET). The main method is through entrance tests such as KCET or COMEDK UGET which require a legitimate rank and seat allocation counseling. Candidates must have at least 45% of their 10+2 grade in math, physics and an elective like chemistry (or 40% if they are SC, ST or OBC). Applying to the college admission office with supporting documentation, such as identity verification and 10+2 marksheets, might also result in direct admission through the management quota. Application forms cost between INR 1,000 and 2,500 and can be obtained online or on campus.
