The opening and closing GATE score indicates the minimum score required to get admission to particular branch/specialisation. It can vary depending on the institute, branch, category, etc. For example, the GATE IISc Bangalore admission cutoff for Round 1 CSE branch is 800 to 1000, where 800 is determined as the low and 1000 indicates the high score in GATE. For example, for CSE it can be around 45 to 56 marks, for mechanical engineering it can correspond around 46 - 55, and for ECE it can roughly correspond around 50 to 60 marks depending on the paper difficulty level.
