The eligibility and selection criteria for courses are as follows:BSc: Candidates must pass Class 12 with a minimum of 45% aggregate in Science (PCB) & English Core/English Elective from recognized board. They must be medically fit. They must be at least 17 years old by December 31st of the admission year. Admission is merit-based.BSc (Post Basic): Candidates must have passed Class 12 from recognized board or before 1986. They must have obtained a certificate in General Nursing and Midwifery. Candidates must also be registered as R.N.R.M. with the State Nurses Registration Council. They must be medically fit. Admission is merit-based.DGNM: Candidates must pass Class 12 with English. They must obtain a minimum of 40% aggregate overall and separately in English from any recognized board. Candidates must be a registered ANM. Admission is merit-based.

The college's parent hospital celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2012. It introduced new therapies in orthopaedics. The college also introduced therapies in gynaecology. Additionally the college's history includes inauguration of Shri Bharani School of Nursing in 2006. There is also development of Bharani Education and Health Trust in 2004.
