Admission to the Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) course at SRMCEM is based on the entrance test (LUMAT) conducted by Lucknow University for 85% of the total seats, and the remaining 15% seats are filled by the management of the college on the basis of merit and specified criteria by the Lucknow University. Eligible candidates must have clearly passed the intermediate examination of U.P. Board or 10 + 2 level examination or its equivalent from any recognized board/university and secured a minimum of 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ST category candidates) without grace marks.

The SRMCEM offers admission to the Discontinues (Aug 2024)- B.Tech. in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering course based on the following criteria:
- GCE A-level or International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma or IB certificate with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Informatics Practices/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies as major subjects.
- SRMJEEE (UG) scores, where candidates who have attempted Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English & Aptitude are eligible for all the B.Tech Degree Programs.
- Direct Admission.
