Sonitpur Polytechnic College Review.
Placements: Every student gets a chance to appear on campus, and the minimum CGPA is 6 points. Some private companies are recruiting students from our college for different courses. But the salary package is low. Approximately 10000-18000 per month. Our college doesn't provide any internships for students.
Infrastructure: They provide a hostel, but it is small and only for girls. Facilities, such as water supply and electricity, are all good. But sometimes we have to face electricity problems due to weather conditions. The hostel doesn't have an inverter. And it has very good security. For boys, they have to go through PG and rent. There are many available near the college.
Faculty: Teachers are very friendly and helpful. They interact with us in a very friendly way. We can ask any question without hesitation. But the number of faculty members is low, according to students. We have to face difficulties for that. Our college gives us technical knowledge with theory, which is very helpful for any site projects.
Other: Personally, I chose this course because I have an interest in construction projects, building materials, and site work. They provide practical knowledge of the site and lab tests for studying different materials. But some machines are not available for practical use. And the campus is clean. And peaceful for study.

Our college is very good, and we all are lucky to be in this college.
Placements: Around 70% of students got placed in our course. I don't know about the packages offered. Around 10% of students got internships in Oil India and many other companies. Many students are going for higher studies like North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology and other state government engineering colleges.
Infrastructure: Labs are well-equipped, and the library is very good. The canteen, sports and games facilities are still under development. The classrooms are not bad, but the teachers are really good. The library has a lot of books related to our courses, and previous year question papers are also available, which help us a lot while studying.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and friendly with us. The teachers are well educated and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality is good. This course is curriculum relevant, and this course provides a lot of practical and theoretical knowledge of civil engineering, which makes a student industry-ready.
Other: I think this course will change our society. The best part is that you will get a lot of knowledge. Only 1,060 junior civil engineers passed out in the whole Assam government college.

College faculty are worth it but facilities are too bad.
Placements: There are no recruiters and internships we have to do on our own. Sometimes in some batches, Star Cement recruiters come but it's not regular or often not for all batches.
Infrastructure: We don't have boys' hostel. Fields are not that good. Power supply is too bad. Labs are not enough. Wi-Fi is not available. Hostel remains closed. Most of the time in classrooms electricity connection is not good. Water supply is not regular. Washrooms and toilets are not clean.
Faculty: Faculty is too good. Semester exams are not that easy or not that hard. The pass percentage for the first class is 6.5 CGPA for the general quota, 6 for OBC and the scheduled tribes and scheduled caste. Course curriculum is good not that bad. We don't have enough teaching staff but the ones who are there, are fine.
Other: College is average.

The maximum age limit is 20 years 6 months for UR/OBC/MOBC as on 31-12-2023 and for 23 years 6 months for SC/ST as on 31-12-2023. Candidates must be a Permanent resident of Assam. |
