Admission is on the basis of NATA or JEE Main Paper 2 scores. Karnataka students should apply through KCET counseling organized by KEA, and non-Karnataka students can apply under the All India Quota through KEA.The required documents are mark sheets, NATA/JEE marks, order of admission, category certificate (if any), and photographs. Admissions to the BTech course provided by the Univesity Visvesvaraya College of Engineering is entrance-based. Students are required to clear the minimum eligibility i.e., to pass Class 12 or its equivalent in the relevant subjects from a recognised board. As the competition for UVCE BTech seats is high, it is important that the candidates secure good marks in the Common Entrance Test conducted by the KEA. Additionally, students need to participate in the counselling process conducted by the KEA for seat allottment. Hence, although the admissions are entrance-based and ideally entrance exam should be enough for securing admisson, students must secure above the cutoff to confirm their seat.

Candidates whose parents’ annual income is less than or equal to INR 2.5 Lacs and students irrespective of Caste/ Community/ Religion, (2A, 3A, 3B and others) who have studied for a period of 7 academic years (commencing from Class 1. up to the qualifying examination either continuously or in broken period) and whose parents’ annual income is less than or equal to INR 44,500 are eligible to claim the Post Metric Scholarship/Food & accommodation/reimbursement of Tuition, Laboratory, Library, Sports and Examination fees from the Backward Classes Welfare Department as per the norms of Government of Karnataka.
