15 students bag jobs with Ford India
Ford India, a subsidiary of US auto major Ford Motor Company, initiated its first ever campus placement drive in Gujarat. The company has offered jobs to 15 students from different colleges of the state and it has been speculated that the recruitments were done on account of setting up a manufacturing plant in Sanand near Ahmedabad. 
The event was a one-day joint campus placement held at Faculty of Technology and Engineering (FTE) of M S University, Vadodara. The programme was participated by 410 students from FTE, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Institute of Technology (SVIT), Vasad, Birla Vishwakarma Mahavidyalaya (BVM) and AD Patel Institute of Technology (ADIT). After rounds of aptitude test, GD and interview, 15 students were offered jobs.
According to Sanjay Soman, in-charge of Training and Placement department of FTE, the minimum salary offered was 5.5 lakhs per annum. Out of the recruited students, three were from FTE; four from BVM and the rest were from ADIT and SVIT. (Read More: as Sanjay Soman speaks to indianexpress.com)
Majority of the students who participated in the programme were from mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and production engineering background. The auto company had approached FTE for organizing a joint campus placement programme where they can select potential engineers from a vast pool of talent.
The company is all set to launch yet another competitive product, called Ford EcoSport. The car is expected to be showcased at the forthcoming Delhi International Auto Expo.
