BITS humanoids win four medals in US Robogames
Two humanoids developed by students from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, won four medals in Robogames in
California, US, recently. BITS was the only Indian entrant in the seventh annual Robogames, where teams from 17 countries participated in 59 events, featuring 508 robots. AcYut 2 won a gold medal under the Sumo category. AcYut 3 bagged one silver each in the Freestyle and Sumo categories and a bronze in the Kung Fu category. Overall, the BITS team stood sixth in the medal tally.
The AcYut humanoids can dance, walk, climb steps and fight. The team comprised Sushma Vallabhaneni (leader), Akash Gupta, Tushar Agrawal and Viveka Nopani. Robogames featured combat robots, walking humanoids, soccer bots, sumo bots, and androids that do Kung Fu.
