BlackBerry phones will now provide free aptitude test application for Indian students. Canada-based Smartphone maker ‘Research in Motion' will provide this application and it will be offered in partnership with content provider Ipomo and mobile operator Vodafone.

Hitesh Shah, Director - Commercial Relationship India, Research in Motion said that the basic purpose of offering this application is to look for a way through which students can utilize his time for productive work on mobile phones. Hence, the company has decided to offer a free application i.e. ‘Aptitude Competition for Excellence (ACE)'. By the means of this application, students can utilize their time to prepare for competitive exams.

Shah added that the content and the application of ACE have been designed by Ipomo for BlackBerry users. At the initial stage, the content for the test will be available for select examination and grades and later on, it will be expanded and updated as per the needs.

There are three partners who are running Aptitude Competition for Excellence (ACE 2011) program in Karnataka and will start it in Pune from January. Another series of ACE in Pune will begin from second week of January. After the completion of ACE test in Pune, the company will provide access to this application on pan-India level and this service will be free-of-cost.

More than 300 students from 40 engineering and management colleges competed against each other using BlackBerry smart phones to answer the test. Today, the three partners jointly announced the first set-of ACE 2011 winners, one each from three different colleges from Bangalore and Mysore. These three partners will also provide a joint scholarship worth Rs 1 lakh to the winner, Rs 50,000 and Rs 25,000 to first runner-up and second runner-up.
