Archaeology is a window to an adventurous career opportunity with a never ending cultural and world history.

Are you an Indiana Jones fanatic or does a - la Rick ‘O' Connell mummy adventure interests you? You bet you are! Then look no further as a career in Archaeology is your best option. In short you are an adventure seeker and your thirst for knowledge knows no end. It is a field where researches and excavations will lead you to about million of years of world history and its rich culture. It's an adrenaline rush to reveal and unfold the mysteries of the past. The legends and folklore of the past have long drawn us towards it and will in the future too. For eg take the recent incident of Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple, where centuries of ancient legendary tales and treasures have been discovered.

Archeology has revealed the greatest puzzles and myths of all times without a doubt our favorite characters of all times Indiana Jones and Rick ‘O' Connell have demonstrated the burning passion for it mixed with the ingredients of adventure and patience. India has great many archaeologists. India has seen great many archaeologists such as George Menachery, Virendra Nath Misra, Rakhaldas D. Bandyopadhyay to name a few. If you want to pursue a career in Archaeology then you can pursue a master's course in Archaeology. Anyone who has a Bachelor's degree in Archaeology, History, Anthropology, Sociology, Geology, Physics, Chemistry, Botany or zoology can pursue a Masters programme in Archaeology.

Though there are many institutes who provide courses in such disciplines but the best among them are Delhi Institute of Historical Research and Management and Institute of Archaeology, Delhi. Institute of Archaeology, Delhi is the education department of Archaeological Survey of India and since it looks after the historical monuments of India and has a rich collection of archives. Delhi Institute of Historical Research and Management on the other hand imparts two degrees namely Master in Archaeology and Heritage Management and Master in Conservation, Preservation and Heritage Management.

The world is like a bowl of mysteries scattered for us to solve. Archaeology is a means to gather those scattered puzzles and unravel the enigma of nature. A career in Archaeology is an evergreen career option since it will always be in demand as every second history is being created for the future generations. The future is based on the past so the study of the past is indeed important for a brighter tomorrow.
