Delhi Government to set up a Construction academy by March 2012

The Delhi Government has decided to start up a construction academy in order to promote civil engineering.

In order to promote civil engineering in the country, the Government of Delhi has decided to set up a construction academy by March 2012. Ramakant Goswami, Labour and Industries minister made this announcement during his visit to the Labour welfare center at Giri Nagar in Kalkaji, where the academy would be set up in March, 2012.

He added that the institute will facilitate the construction activities in Delhi to make certain structural stability and minimize the building collapse. The institute will provide skill development lessons to around 2,000 workers every year and it will be a residential academy with boarding and lodging facilities. The training course will be held for varying duration which could be 15 days to two months.
