DUSU Election Held on September 3
DELHI UNIVERSITY Students Union (DUSU) election, which decides the fate of 41 candidates, was held on September 3, 2010. Over 95,000 students from 51 colleges of Delhi University could use their right to vote for the post of DUSU president, Vice President, Secretary and Joint Secretary.
This year in the DUSU election, students of Delhi University could cast their votes at polling stattions, which had been equipped with 943 electronic voting machines (EVMs), if they carry their DU identity cards. The campaigning for the Delhi University elections ended Wednesday and the winners DUSU election have been announced on Saturday. The counting of the votes will took place at the office of Dean, students' welfare.
Major students unions including ABVP, NSUI, AISA and AISF had fielded total 41 candidates for the four posts in DUSU. Total 11 students were contesting for the president's post including Harish Choudhary, a student of SGBT Khalsa College from NSUI, Jitender Choudhary of MA (Budhist Studies) from ABVP, CPI leaders D Raja's daughter Aparajiths Raja from AISF.

Other important candidates who were in the fray included Vardhan Chaudhary (NSUI) and Priya Dabas (ABVP) for vice-president, Deepika Deshwal (NSUI) and Neetu Dabas (ABVP) for secretary and Akshay Kumar (NSUI) and Saurabh Uniyal (ABVP) for joint secretary's post.
